Forfeit and Borrowing Rules

 Forfeits

An important change has been made to forfeit procedures to allow appropriate planning for teams, referees, the MWFA and to also prevent unfair tactics such as waiting to the last minute to forfeit to potentially gain advantage.

Forfeits must come from the club delegate not players/coaches or managers. Email administrator@narrabeenfc..com.au or text message your age coordinator by 3pm the day prior to your match with the details of your forfeit, otherwise 1 competition point will be deducted. Your message should include:

  • Club
  • Opposition
  • Age/Div
  • Date
  • Time
  • Field

Borrowing rules U12-18

Competition aged teams have specific rules to follow when it comes to borrowing players (including specific rules for senior age groups U21+, which can be found in section M, page 30 of the MWFA Playing Rules).

  • Players can only be borrowed where all registered players in the team play at least half a match (except in the case of injury during the match)
  • Players can only be borrowed a maximum of four (4) times by a team
  • Maximum number of borrowed players in a match is four (4)
  • Teams can borrow players from the same age group in an equivalent or lower division
  • Teams can borrow players from one age group lower where players can be from one division higher and below (e.g. U13 Division 3 team can borrow from U12 Division 2 and below)
  • Teams can borrow players from two age groups lower where players can be from any division (e.g. U14 Division 4 team can borrow any U12 player)
  • Any U11 or U10 players being borrowed must have provided photo and ID to be available on the match sheets. This needs to be organised with your age coordinator to manage with our registrar well ahead of match day. If you are an U10 or U11 player who wants to be made available by the U12’s or U13’s, please contact your age coordinator at juniors@narrabeenfc.com.au .
  • Players that are borrowed must have been eligible to play (and played) for their own registered team before being borrowed by another team (e.g. If games are the same time a player must play for their registered team over being borrowed by another team)
  • Borrowing of players must be in the spirit of fair play and not to strengthen a team beyond its normal standard.
  • Breaches of borrowing rules will either result in the game being a forfeit or result in the loss of 3 competition points

Wet Weather Process

Northern Beaches Council sportsfield status information is updated on weekdays 8am and 3pm, weekends and public holidays 7am. If a match is cancelled Dribl will be updated, however it’s good practice to check field status if there has been wet weather before assuming your field is open for play.

Are you ready for match day?
