Season 2026 Presidents Report

The 2026 season has been another outstanding year for Narrabeen Football Club and one that reflects the continued strength of our community, our volunteers and our shared vision that Narrabeen Football Club is a club run by the community for the community and there is a place for anyone wanting to play football, at Narrabeen.

This year, Narrabeen FC proudly welcomed 1,435 registered members, one of the largest clubs in the Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA), supported by an incredible 199 volunteer coaches and managers. These numbers reflect not only the size of our club but also the dedication of the people who give their time so generously to create a positive football experience for every player.

Our success is measured by much more than results on the field. It is reflected in our ongoing commitment to improve the quality of our governance, the strength of our football programs, the commitment of our volunteers, the development of our coaches and players, and the culture we continue to build across every age group and level of the club.

Football Development

Player development remains at the heart of everything we do.

During 2026 we continued to invest in creating quality football experiences for players of all ages and abilities. A major achievement this season was the continued delivery of our revitalised Youth Development Program, led by a licensed coach and provided at no additional cost to families. This initiative reinforces our commitment to making quality coaching accessible while providing young players with additional opportunities to develop their technical skills and understanding of the game.

We were also proud to introduce specialist goalkeeper coaching for the first time. Goalkeepers play a unique role within our game, and providing dedicated position-specific coaching has been a valuable addition to our football program and another important investment in player development.

Coach education continues to be a strategic priority. Narrabeen FC is fortunate to have 2 Football Australia B Licence Coaches and 7 Football Australia C Licence Coaches, providing leadership, mentoring and quality coaching across our football programs. We remain committed to supporting more coaches to gain accreditation and continue raising coaching standards throughout the club. A statistic we hope to see grow in the future.

We also ensure we’re constantly listening to our members. This year we established a grading committee to assist with team formation and continued with our annual player assessment forms so players aren’t simply placed in a team based off one session.

Governance

Throughout the year, the committee has remained focused on transparent decision-making, responsible financial management and strengthening the systems that support our members. We continue to review our policies and operational practices to ensure Narrabeen FC remains well governed, inclusive and positioned for sustainable growth.

The commitment of our committee members and volunteers enables the club to continue delivering opportunities for more than 1,400 players while maintaining the values that define our football community.

Facilities and Infrastructure

As participation continues to grow, so too does the demand on our facilities and resources.

The committee remains committed to working collaboratively with local stakeholders to advocate for improved playing fields, training facilities and club infrastructure that meet the needs of our growing membership. Despite the fire in the pre-season at Boondah, we were still able to get the 2026 season started without any impact to our members. We continue to work with council to ensure the upgrade of our clubhouse goes ahead in 2026 for season 2027. It’s important our facilities are appropriate for our football playing community.

Additionally, we partnered with the MWFA to see new lights installed at Boondah 2 giving us more space for training and reducing the amount of training cancellations, as well as installing a permanent Defib at Boondah. We continued to invest appropriately in equipment including portable goals now available on every training field, football resources and technology including new VEO match recording devices. This all ensures our players and volunteers have the support they need both now and into the future.

Financial Sustainability

Maintaining a strong financial position allows Narrabeen FC to continue investing in football while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the club.

Careful financial management has enabled us to support player development initiatives, coach education, equipment upgrades and operational improvements while remaining financially responsible.

We sincerely thank our sponsors Rick Davis Contracting, Pittwater RSL, Mitre 10, MTP Projects and Surfboat Brewery, community partners and grant providers for their ongoing support. Their contributions play a vital role in helping us provide quality football opportunities for our members.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to grow, our strategic priorities remain clear:

  • Continue growing participation across all age groups and programs.
  • Expand opportunities for women’s and girls’ football.
  • Strengthen our Youth Development Program and player pathways.
  • Continue developing coaches through education and accreditation.
  • Enhance specialist programs, including goalkeeper development.
  • Advocate for improved facilities and infrastructure.
  • Maintain strong governance and financial sustainability.
  • Support and recognise the volunteers who are the foundation of our club.

Our vision is to be recognised as a leading community football club—one that develops players, supports coaches, values volunteers and provides an inclusive environment where every member can enjoy the game and reach their potential.

Thank You

Finally, I would like to thank the MWFA, every player, parent, coach, manager, referee, volunteer, sponsor and committee member who has contributed to Narrabeen Football Club throughout 2026.

Community football thrives because people are willing to give their time, share their knowledge and support one another. Your passion, commitment and belief in our club are what make Narrabeen FC such a special place.

Together, we are building more than successful football teams, we are building a strong, inclusive and sustainable football community that will continue to serve the Northern Beaches for many years to come.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to another successful year in 2027.
